Tshegofatso Makhafola is the previous Head of School at Curro Jewel City which specialised operated in the digital educational technology space. Prior to this, he was at Curro New Road, where he pioneered their art programme in a digital space and helped to facilitate their project-based learning approach within the school’s model.

As an innovation specialist, Mr Makhafola uniquely understands the historical and current theoretical planning models and approaches for developmental pedagogy. With his unique combination of interests and attributes – ranging from an in-depth understanding of pedagogical development to adjudication of performing arts on a national level.

Beyond his work, he values community service and has a great appreciation for the performing arts.

Mr Makhafola is not new to Future Nation Schools having joined as a science and art teacher in 2016 until 2020. Mr Makhafola holds a Bachelor of Education degree specialising in Mathematics from The University of the Witwatersrand as well as an Honours in Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Pretoria.

Mr Makhafola will add much value to leading Future Nation Schools – Fleurhof as he has a deep understanding of the FNS culture and our Project-Based Learning and teaching approach.
