Driving question: What are my senses and how can I use them to learn better?
Grade: Grade 1
Project Descriptor:
This term, our Grade 1 learners explored the fascinating world of the five senses through an interactive project titled What are my senses and how can I use them to learn better?.
They discovered how sight, sound, touch, taste and smell help us understand the world around us. Learners experimented with real objects, conducted sensory games and created their own wooden or cardboard emergency number boards for the school. They learned to observe, describe and record sensory experiences while improving their communication, teamwork and creative problem-solving skills.
The project culminated in a vibrant exhibition where learners proudly presented their sense-based creations to parents and the school community, showcasing how they used their senses to learn better.
