Project Descriptor:
During this project, Grade 7 learners took on the role of young entrepreneurs by planning, developing and running small businesses for the school Market Day.
Working collaboratively in teams, learners conducted peer market research to identify needs and interests within the school community and used this data to design relevant products or services. Learners applied core business principles including budgeting, pricing, marketing and profit calculation while being encouraged to operate sustainably through the use of eco-friendly materials and waste-reduction strategies.
The project culminated in a Market Day showcase where learners presented and sold their offerings, engaged with customers and gathered feedback. Post-event reflection enabled learners to evaluate their performance and deepen their understanding of entrepreneurship, teamwork and responsible business practice.
